Mubiki

Gouache on watercolour paper. Completed 26/07/2023

Mubiki is an important character in the book I’m writing. Not only do they have a deep knowledge of the history of Varla, but also have connections in the city’s most secretive corners. They are a soft and kind soul with a sly sense of humour. Dew might have a teeny crush on them.

This portrait is directly from a scene in the story where they play a variation on an autoharp (an instrument I’ve always wanted to try). I’m glad I could squeak this one in before the end of pride month!
